TYPES OF DIABETES

As basic and normal as it may sound, diabetes can be a major inconvenience. It is a disease that is primarily associated with the pancreas.

Type 1 occurs at any stage in life but is prevalent in children and adolescents. It happens when the body produces very little or no insulin at all. Patients are required to take regular insulin shots.

Type 2 occurs in adults for a majority of the global cases. It happens when the body does not make good use of the insulin it produces. Over time, patients are required to take medications to help the body cope.
