CRS in Tanzania works in very close collaboration with the Catholic Church and implements programs through both Churches and secular local partners. CRS Tanzania will be implementing the Leveraging Community Systems to Optimize Maternal-Child Nutrition project in Mbeya and Njombe. This project aims to contribute to accelerating reduction of childhood stunting and improved adolescent nutrition outcomes in selected councils of Njombe and Mbeya through strengthened community structures and systems that protect and support adequate and varied diets, quality services, and adoption of key optimal nutrition behaviors. This internship seeks a current undergraduate or graduate student seeking to obtain work experience that aligns with his/her studies in Maternal-Child Nutrition.
Job Summary
The Project Intern – Nutrition will support all project activities in line with the project’s Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP), i.e., support trainings, data collection, supportive supervision, working with frontline workers and local government authorities. The Intern will also be responsible for ensuring that the project’s documentation for reporting is accurate and submitted on time.
Job Responsibilities
In collaboration with the project team, work with Local Government Authorities at regional and council levels to implement agriculture interventions.
Support workshops, orientation and training sessions, of front-line workers, community-based support systems, and beneficiaries at community level.
Support the monitoring and evaluation of the project’s activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of agriculture activities.
Support supportive supervision and follow-ups with frontline community workers to ensure effective implementation of project activities.
Prepare field reports and assist in compilation for submission.
Maintain strong communication with community leaders and other local stakeholders for the seamless implementation of project activities.
Qualifications
2022 – 2024 bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Public Health, Nutrition, or related field graduates from a recognized higher learning institution.
Some experience in community-based health or nutrition programs will be a plus.
Proficiency in Swahili and good working knowledge of English.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a cross-cultural setting.
Proficiency in relevant software applications and data analysis tools.
Willingness to travel frequently to project sites and work in remote rural areas.

Supervisory: N/A
Internal: Project Manager, Project Team, Head of Office- Mbeya, other Program and Operations staff, especially in Mbeya and Head of Programs as necessary.
External: COUNSENUT, LGAs, and other like organizations working in the project zone.
